Kendrick Green does not practice, Pat Freiermuth and Chris Wormley do for Steelers

Even with an extra day off, Kendrick Green’s calf injury still had yet to sufficiently heal so he could participate in Pittsburgh Steelers practice Thursday.
Green left Sunday’s loss at the Kansas City Chiefs because of the ailment, and his status Thursday suggests he might miss a start for the first time in his NFL career. The rookie center was replaced by J.C. Hassenauer against the Chiefs, and that likely would be the plan if Green misses Monday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Two starters who sat out the Kansas City game, though, did practice fully Thursday: tight end Pat Freiermuth (concussion) and defensive lineman Chris Wormley (groin). They suffered their injuries during the previous week’s game against Tennessee.
Rookie linebacker Buddy Johnson (foot) was the only other player not to practice Thursday because of injury. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was given his regular weekly day off, and punter Pressley Harvin III is away from the team mourning the death of his father.
Veteran starting right guard Trai Turner was not listed on the injury report, four days after he left the Chiefs game because of a knee injury.
With the Steelers playing Monday night this week, coach Mike Tomlin elected to stay on a normal routine of three practices while adding an extra day of mental prep in lieu of extra on-field work Wednesday.
