The career of former Pittsburgh Steeler Le’Veon Bell was altered by two big hits from former Cincinnati Bengals players.

First, there was the blow that hyperextended his knee from safety Reggie Nelson at the end of the 2014 season that caused Bell to miss the playoffs. Then there was the one from linebacker Vontaze Burfict that resulted in a season-ending torn MCL on Nov. 1, 2015. After that game, Bell said he felt that the Bengals were trying to injure him. Fellow Steelers such as Vince Williams were also put off by Burfict’s hit and his celebration of it.

Eventually, Bell said he didn’t have a problem with the Nelson tackle. So it must’ve been Burfict he was talking about when he made a media appearance recently, suggesting he wanted to fight a former player who had injured him.

While on the “Misfits Boxing” podcast over the weekend, the former All-Pro running back was asked who he would really like to fight in the future.

“This person is not a boxer,” Bell said. “It’s someone from football. They had purposely injured me. Purposefully. I don’t think I want to say the name. People who watched my career when I hurt my knee, people know. Yeah, people know. I would love to put my hands on him in the ring.”

Upon catching wind of Bell’s statements, another ex-Cincinnati player Adam “Pacman” Jones reached out to Burfict. His former Bengals teammate told Jones he’d fight Bell, but in the octagon — MMA style.

Jones tweeted that he’d bet $100,000 on Burfict and that they could have the fight live on the “Pat McAfee Show,” where Jones makes frequent appearances.

In response to Jones, Bell tweeted that he’d only box Burfict. Surprisingly, in an Instagram story, Burfict responded to the beef by suggesting the two hash it out on the golf course.

Nah, I don’t think so. Golf isn’t going to get this done.

Boxing, MMA or nothing, fellas.

I’ll leave it up to “Pacman Fight Promotions” to get the job done and make this happen.
