Maulers shut out by Michigan Panthers, fall to 0-3

The Pittsburgh Maulers remained winless on the young USFL season Sunday after a 24-0 loss to the Michigan Panthers at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.
The Maulers (0-3) fell behind 16-0 in the first quarter and couldn’t get going on offense.
Ramiz Ahmed missed field-goal attempts of 57, 46 and 59 yards, and the Maulers turned the ball over on downs twice deep in Michigan territory.
Maulers quarterback Josh Love completed 10 of 19 passes for 83 yards. Kyle Lauletta hit on 9 of 12 passes for 42 yards.
On the ground, Madre London ran 11 times for 68 yards, and Garrett Groshek had 10 carries for 28 yards.
Tre Walker led the receivers with five catches for 58 yards.
Defensively, Central Catholic grad Tre Tarpley III had a team-high 12 tackles.
The Maulers return to action at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against the New Jersey Generals (1-1).
