Duquesne head coach Keith Dambrot guided the Dukes to a 6-24 record this season.

A day after the season came to a close for the Duquesne men’s basketball team, planning for the 2022-23 season began.

Coach Keith Dambrot and the Dukes received a commitment Thursday from David Dixon, a forward prospect from Memphis, Tenn.

Dixon (6-8, 200) played this past season at the Teplitzky Mack Global Prep Academy in California. Rated a three-star prospect by Rivals, he tore his ACL during the 2020-21 season and decided to play a prep season in 2021-22.

He also had offers from Dayton, Georgia Tech, Jackson State, Ole Miss, Missouri, Morehead State, Pacific, San Diego State, Seton Hall and Texas A&M.

In high school, Dixon was the district MVP after averaging 18 points, 16 rebounds and six assists for Memphis Academy of Health Sciences.

He joins a 2022 Dukes recruiting class that also includes Lincoln Park senior L.A. Pratt.

Duquesne finished 6-24 this season and ended the campaign on a 17-game losing streak that culminated with a 79-77 loss to Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Wednesday.
