Minor league report: Nailers beat Fuel in shootout

A shootout goal by forward Jack Beck gave the Wheeling Nailers a 2-1 win against the Indy Fuel at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Friday.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 24 saves on 25 shots in regulation and overtime then stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout to improve his record to 5-2-0. Forward Matthew Querica scored the only regulation goal for Wheeling (7-3-1-0), which has won three consecutive games.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Fuel on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
