Minor league report: Nailers’ winning streak reaches 4

A goal and two assists by forward Connor Lockhart led the Wheeling Nailers to a 5-2 win against the Greensboro Gargoyles at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va., on Sunday.

The result extended a winning streak to four games.

Forwards Ryan Mahshie and Logan Pietila each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (18-3-1-0) while forward Brayden Edwards contributed two assists.

Goaltender Maxim Pavlenko made 29 saves on 31 shots to improve his record to 8-3-0.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Reading Royals on Wednesday, 7 p.m.
