Minor league report: Penguins, Sergei Murashov remain undefeated

Forwards Atley Calvert and Ville Koivunen each had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-1 win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

The hosts also got goals from forwards Danton Heinen and Avery Hayes.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 26 saves on 27 shots to boost his record to 4-0-0.

With the victory, the Penguins improved to 5-0-0 to open the season. The club has had only three better starts to a season since entering the American Hockey League in 1999:

2005-06 – 9-0-0

2010-11 – 9-0-0

2013-14 – 6-0-0

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, 7 p.m.
