Mirroring the more publicized Associated Press All Pro team, the Pittsburgh Steelers were likewise shut out of having any All-NFL recognition from the Pro Football Writers of America.

Defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, again, however was part of a still-prestigious but slightly lesser honor.

Heyward was on the All-AFC team released Monday by the PFWA. The organization has named All-NFL teams for the past 61 seasons and conducts separate balloting among members for their All-NFL, All-AFC and All-NFC teams.

Heyward, 36, led all NFL defensive tackles in snaps played this season. A 15-year NFL veteran, Heyward this past season moved into second place on the Steelers’ career games played list. He had 3 ½ sacks, one forced fumble, six batted-down passes, nine tackles for loss and nine QB hits in 2025.

Heyward was on the AP’s second team for NFL All Pro. He is entering the final season of his contract and would be due a raise in an extension should he end up playing for the Steelers in 2026.

The Denver Broncos has a league-high four players on the PFWA All-NFL team. Eight teams had two. The Steelers were one of 16 teams not represented on the 27-player list of honorees.

Tuesday, the PFWA will release its all-rookie teams and offensive and defensive rookies of the year.
