The Pittsburgh Penguins cut 14 players from their training camp roster Thursday afternoon:

Forwards — Raivis Ansons, Jack Beck, Atley Calvert, Mathieu De St. Phalle, Sam Houde, Gabe Klassen, Bennett MacArthur, Logan Pietila

Defensemen — Isaac Belliveau, Scooter Brickey, Justin Lee, Mats Lindgren, Phillip Waugh

Goalie — Luke Richardson

All players were reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s American Hockey League training camp.

Thursday featured the third wave of cuts made by the Penguins since camp got underway Sept. 18.

None of the players cut Thursday had appeared in the Penguins’ two preseason games to date.

Ansons was a fifth-round (No. 149) draft pick by the Penguins in 2020, while Belliveau was chosen in the fifth round (No. 154) of the 2021 draft.

A total of 52 players remain with the Penguins as the preseason continues.

Note: Within the aforementioned batch of cuts, three players are currently signed to NHL contracts: Ansons, in the last year of his entry-level contract worth $844,167 annually; Belliveau, whose entry-level deal runs through 2025-26 at a cap hit of $875,000; and MacArthur, acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Lucas Svejkovsky in June, who has one more year on his entry-level deal worth $859,167.
