The Penguins are slated to start goaltender Tristan Jarry in Tuesday’s home game against the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena.

In 21 games this season, Jarry has a 12-5-4 record, a 1.92 goals against average, a .934 save percentage and three shutouts.

Jarry’s most recent game was a 4-2 road win against the Washington Capitals on Friday. He made 29 saves on 31 shots that contest.

Notes:

• The Penguin had an optional morning skate Tuesday. In addition to Jarry, those who participated included forwards Zach Aston-Reese, Teddy Blueger, Danton Heinen, Sam Lafferty, Drew O’Connor, Evan Rodrigues and Dominik Simon; defensemen Mark Friedman, Kris Letang, Mike Matheson, Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel; and goaltender Casey DeSmith.

Forward Evgeni Malkin, currently on long-term injured reserve as he recovers from a right knee injury, skated in a non-contact fashion.

Additionally, injured forwards Jake Guentzel (right hand) and Bryan Rust (undisclosed) each worked out on the ice before the morning skate.

• The Canadiens are expected to start goaltender Jake Allen. In 22 games this season, Allen has a 5-14-2 record, along with a 3.01 goals against average, a .906 save percentage and two shutouts.

On Nov. 27, Allen made a career-best 47 saves on 50 shots and led the Canadiens to a 6-3 road win against the Penguins. That was the Penguins’ most recent loss at home.
