Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry with a third-period save on the Jets’ Kyle Connor on Nov. 22, 2024 at PPG Paints Arena.

Tristan Jarry is scheduled to start in net for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday evening when the Vancouver Canucks visit PPG Paints Arena.

Coach Mike Sullivan revealed his starting netminder after his club’s morning skate in Cranberry.

Through six starts, Jarry is 1-3-1 with a 4.41 goals-against average and .869 save percentage.

Since returning to the Penguins in mid-November following a conditioning stint with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, Jarry has started three games, going 0-2-1.

On the injury front, forward Cody Glass, sidelined with a concussion, will not play vs. the Canucks.

Glass suffered his concussion Nov. 7 vs. the Carolina Hurricanes and remains on injured reserve.

Fellow forward Blake Lizotte was listed by Sullivan as a game-time decision.

Lizotte, similarly on injured reserve, is also recovering from a concussion, which he sustained Nov. 13 against the Detroit Red Wings.

Both Lizotte and Glass partook in morning skate Wednedsay and were full-go in the Penguins’ team practice Tuesday.

Wednesday’s morning skate attendees were as follows:

Forwards: Lizotte, Glass, Kevin Hayes, Jesse Puljujarvi, Valtteri Puustinen, Philip Tomasino

Defensemen: Ryan Shea, Ryan Graves, Owen Pickering, Matt Grzelcyk, Jack St. Ivany

Goalies: Jarry, Alex Nedeljkovic

Notes:

• Puustinen was placed on waivers by the Penguins Tuesday afternoon but still attended the club’s morning skate Wednesday. Puustinen cleared waivers and can now be assigned to the AHL.

Waived players are not restricted from joining in team activities during their 24-hour claim window. In February of 2023, former Penguin Brock McGinn even dressed for the club hours after being waived and went on to record a key assist in a win over the Nashville Predators.

• Following their 2-0 road win against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, the Canucks traveled overnight and did not stage a morning skate Wednesday.

• Canucks forward J.T. Miller, a native of Coraopolis, is on a leave of absence from the team in order to attend to a personal matter.
