The 47th annual Pennsylvania Karate Championships are coming to the A-K Valley.
On Nov. 9, Valley High School will host the annual event as competitors from all over the state compete for top honors in the karate championships. It is an open tournament, so ages of contestants will range from 5 and under in the children’s division all the way up to 50 and older in the senior division.
Competitors will compete in sparring, weapons, self-defense and form. There will also be grandmaster and masters Kata weapons and sparring.
Seven grand champion trophies will be awarded at the end of the event, which is set to start around 11 a.m. and conclude sometime between 4 and 6 p.m.
