Pirates farm report for April 9, 2025: Ji-Hwan Bae, Braxton Ashcraft spark Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 3-5) took care of Louisville (Reds), 7-3. CF Ji-Hwan Bae (.250) went 2 for 4 with a double and his first home run. 1B Malcom Nunez (.240) went 1 for 3 with his first homer and two RBIs. C Henry Davis (.250) went 2 for 4 with a run scored, RBI and his second stolen base. 3B Liover Peguero (.241) went 2 for 5 with a pair of RBIs, a run scored and his first steal. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (1-2, 4.05) started and allowed one run on three hits in five innings. He fanned six. RHP Tanner Rainey (0.00) pitched a perfect sixth.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 1-4) was clobbered by Akron (Guardians), 13-1. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (21.60) started and was touched up for four runs on four hits and two walks in 1 ⅔ innings. RHP Derek Diamond (18.90) got one out and gave up five runs on three hits and two walks. SS Jack Brannigan (.250) went 3 for 4 with a run scored. C Wyatt Hendrie (.250) went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. LF Hudson Head (.125) went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 4-1) outslugged Winston-Salem (White Sox), 8-6. DH Omar Alfonzo (.300) went 2 for 3 with his second homer, two walks and two runs scored. 1B Maikol Escotto (.588) went 2 for 4 with his second homer and two RBIs. LF Jesus Castillo (.368) went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.250) went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. RHP Hung-Leng Chang (1.93) started and gave up one run on three hits in 4 ⅔ innings. He walked one and struck out two.

RHP Jose Garces (3.00) pitched two scoreless innings and RHP Noak Takacs (1-0, 0.00) worked 1 ⅔ scoreless to pick up the win.
