Pirates farm report for May 14, 2025: Billy Cook delivers walk-off hit for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 22-17) walked off Louisville (Reds), 9-8. LF Billy Cook (.205) slapped a walk-off base hit to second base to score pinch-runner Matt Frazier (.143) in the bottom of the ninth. Cook finished his night with four singles and two RBIs. CF Jack Suwinski (.264) smashed a two-run home run, his third, and had an RBI single. SS Liover Peguero (.255) also hit a two-run dinger, his second. 2B Nick Solak (.383) hit two singles and had an RBI. 1B Spencer Horwitz (.308) doubled and singled twice. C Endy Rodriguez (.000) went 0 for 4 with a pair of groundouts, a lineout and a flyout as he started his rehab assignment (finger). RHP Braxton Ashcraft (4.89) started and went six innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on five hits, walked two and struck out eight. LHP Nick Dombkowksi (4.26) surrendered a three-run home run amongst his three hits given up over two-thirds of an inning. RHP Yohan Ramirez (4.61) fanned three in 1⅓ scoreless innings. RHP Eddy Yean (2-2, 3.07) picked up the win after blowing a save, yielding a run on three hits in the ninth.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 17-18) split a doubleheader with Harrisburg (Nationals). In the first game, an 8-0 win for the Curve, RHP Alessandro Ercolani (1-2, 4.18) started and went five innings, allowing three hits and one walk with five strikeouts. LHP Cy Nielson (4.86) finished off the shutout with two no-hit innings, fanning four. 2B Termarr Johnson went 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored. RF Sammy Siani (.244) went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs. DH Nick Cimillo (.184) went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. CF Mitch Jebb (.287) went 1 for 3 with a triple, a walk and a run scored. SS Jack Brannigan went 1 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

In the second game, a 6-4 Curve loss, RHP Po-Yu Chen (0-3, 4.55) started and was touched up for six runs on eight hits, including a homer, in five innings. He walked two and struck out five. RHP JC Flowers (12.10) and RHP Jarod Bayless (2.79) each threw a scoreless inning. Brannigan (.242) went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. 3B Kervin Pichardo (.233) went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs. Johnson (.261) went 1 for 4 with a run scored.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 24-11) outslugged Rome (Braves), 10-9. DH Esmerlyn Valdez (.323) went 3 for 5 with a double and his 10th homer, a two-run shot. CF PJ Hilson (.228) went 2 for 3 with a double, his fourth homer and four RBIs. 2B Kalae Harrison (.193) went 1 for 4 with his second homer. RF Enmanuel Terrero (.216) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Hung-Leng Chang (6.51) started and was tagged with seven runs on nine hits, including two homers, in three innings. LHP Julian Bosnic (1-0, 4.40) pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the win. RHP Michael Walsh (3.31) also threw two scoreless innings. RHP Landon Tomkins (1.23) got the final out for his third save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 15-19) defeated Dunedin (Blue Jays), 6-3. RHP Peyton Stumbo (6.00) went 4⅔ innings and allowed three runs on seven hits, gave up no walks and struck out six. RHP Greiber Mendez (4-2, 5.79) fanned one in an inning and got the win. RHP Jose Graces (3.38) struck out one and walked one in 1⅓ innings. RHP Jake Shirk (1.89) yielded one hit and struck out one in a two-inning save. CF Will Taylor (.267) hit an RBI triple and an RBI double. 1B Axiel Plaz (.296) slugged his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot. SS Konnor Griffin (.296) hit three singles, drove in a run and scored twice. 2B Jhonny Severino (.215) went 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts.
