Pirates farm report for May 15, 2025: Spencer Horwitz homers in Indianapolis win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 23-17) took care of Louisville (Reds), 7-4. DH Spencer Horwitz (.323), continuing his rehab from wrist surgery, went 2 for 5 with his first home run and two runs scored. LF Matt Fraizer (.167) went 1 for 4 with his first homer. 1B Nick Solak (.393) went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two runs scored. 2B Nick Yorke (.248) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. 3B Liover Peguero (.268) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. LHP Hunter Barco, who has an 0.89 ERA with Altoona and Indianapolis this season, left the game with an injury after facing five batters and recording one out. RHP Carson Fulmer (4.63) came on and pitched 2 ⅔ scoreless innings. RHP Dauri Moreta (4.50), rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, worked a scoreless fourth. RHP Drake Fellows (4-0, 4.70) gave up one unearned run on three hits in 2 ⅓ innings to pick up the win. RHP Ryder Ryan (2.60) followed with 1⅔ scoreless innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 18-18) defeated Harrisburg (Nationals), 9-4. 3B Kevin Pichardo (.283) went a perfect 3 for 3 with four RBIs and a home run, his second of the year. CF Mitch Jebb (.293) went 3 for 4 with a triple and four runs scored. LF Tres Gonzalez (.267) had one hit and two RBIs. RHP Garrett McMillan (1-0) went five innings, giving up one run and three hits while striking out four. RHP Valentin Linarez (5.29) pitched 1⅔ innings, surrendering one run while striking out three and walking one. LHP Jaden Woods (4.00) faced seven batters, fanning one and walking one.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 25-11) defeated Rome (Braves), 5-4, thanks to solo home runs by 1B Geovanny Planchart and LF Esmerlyn Valdez in the bottom of the fifth. Planchart (.109) only had one hit, while Valdez (.328) had two and two runs scored. DH Javier Rivas (.325) also homered and had two RBIs and two runs scored. RF P.J. Hilson went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. LHP Connor Oliver (3.91) started on the mound for the Grasshoppers, giving up three runs, all of which were home runs. RHP Jaycob Deese (3-0) allowed two hits and recorded two strikeouts.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 15-19) dropped its game against Dunedin (Blue Jays), 11-6. SS Konnor Griffin (.315) went 4 for 5 with a double and three runs scored. All four of his hits had an exit velocity over 100 mph. 3B Jhonny Severino (.222) hit his fourth home run of the year on a solo shot to left field in the top of the fifth. CF Braylon Bishop (.252) went 3 for 5 with two RBIs. RHP Carlos Castillo (0-2) got the loss for the Marauders after allowing three runs on six hits. RHP Adolfo Oviedo (10.03) gave up four runs and two homers in his two innings of action. RHP Jesus Clode (5.19) surrendered three runs on two hits while walking one across two innings.
