Pirates farm report for May 17, 2025: Endy Rodriguez homers on rehab stint

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 25-17) swept Louisville (Reds) in a doubleheader. In the first game, a 6-4 Indianapolis win, DH Endy Rodriguez, on a rehab stint as he recovers from a cut on his hand, went 1 for 2 with a two-run homer and a walk. CF Jack Suwinski (.268) went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his fourth. 1B Liover Peguero (.280) went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored. LF Matt Fraizer (.200) went 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI. RHP Thomas Harrington (2-3, 5.59) started and went 5⅔ innings, allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. RHP Isaac Mattson (2.50) pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings to pick up his fourth save.

In the second game, an 8-2 Indy triumph, RHP Mike Burrows (2-1, 2.51) started and went five innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits with five strikeouts. LHP Randy Labaut (4.34) and RHP Kyle Nicolas (5.79) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Suwinski went 1 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. LF Nick Yorke (.250) went 1 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Peguero went 1 for 2 with two walks, a run scored and an RBI. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.295) went 1 for 2 with two runs scored. 2B Alika Williams (.181) went 1 for 3 with two runsc scored. 3B Tsung-Che Cheng (.200) went 0 for 1 with a walk and two RBIs.

Next: Sunday vs. Louisville (Reds), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 20-18) doubled up Harrisburg (Nationals), 8-4. RF Mike Jarvis (.264) went 3 for 4 with a double and a two-run homer, his first. SS Kervin Pichardo (.315) went 2 for 5 with his third homer, a solo shot. 2B Termarr Johnson (.260) went 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored. CF Mitch Jebb (.320) went 3 for 5 with an RBI and his 14th stolen base. RHP Sean Sullivan (0.00) started and threw three perfect innings, striking out four. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith (3.86) came on and gave up one run on three hits in 2⅔ innings to earn the win. He walked none and struck out two.

Next: Sunday vs. Harrisburg (Nationals), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 27-11) beat Rome (Braves), 4-2. LF Enmanuel Terrrero (.225) went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his third. 2B Maikol Escotto (.353) went 1 for 3 with his fourth homer, a solo shot. The Grasshoppers managed only three other hits, all singles, by RF Lonnie White Jr. (.227), 1B Omar Alfonzo (.207) and CF Shalin Polanco (.188). RHP Khristian Curtis (7.66) started and surrendered two runs on four hits, including a homer, with three walks and four strikeouts in 4⅓ innings. LHP Blake Townsend (2-0, 0.86) came on and pitched 2⅔ scoreless innings to pick up the win. RHP Ryan Harbin (4.60) finished up with two no-hit innings to earn his second save.

Next: Sunday vs. Rome (Braves), 2 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 17-20) clobbered Dunedin (Blue Jays), 13-5. C Axiel Plaz (.299) went 3 for 5 with a two-run homer, his fifth. 3B Yordany De Los Santos (.222) went 3 for 5 and also hit his fifth homer, a solo shot. CG Braylon Bishop (.257) went 2 for 6 with a triple and his third homer. SS Konnor Griffin (.324) was 3 for 6 with two runs scored, two RBIs and his 17th stolen base. DH Will Taylor (.282) went 2 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. LHP Victor Cabreja (3.90) started and allowed two runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts in four innings. RHP Grieber Mendez (5.40) came on and pitched three innings, allowing one run on two hits with one strikeout, to earn the win.
