Pat Narduzzi couldn’t have ordered a better weekend than the one that concluded Sunday.
Pitt’s coach received five verbal commitments from class of 2025 propsects on the final official visit weekend of June, four who confirmed their decision on social media and one who remains unidentified. Pitt’s class now includes 17 confirmed high school seniors.
Running back Synkwan Smith was the fourth to confirm in three days after his visit. At 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, he fits the size, speed and elusiveness profile preferred by offensive coordinator Kade Bell.

Smith, a 3-star prospect who totaled more than 1,500 all-purpose yards last season at Roswell (Ga.) High School, has 18 scholarship offers. Aside from Pitt, he has power conference offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Georgia Tech.
Also committing to Pitt this weekend were three-stars Emmanuel Taylor (6-foot-2, 195 pounds), who can play wide receiver and linebacker, wide receiver Kha’Leal Sterling (5-10, 170) and offensive lineman Torian Chester (6-5, 320).
A rising senior at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Va., Taylor has offers from Charlotte, Duke, Old Dominion and Virginia Tech.
Sterling, a 3-star, attends Miami Central High School. He has offers from 15 schools, including Arizona State, West Virginia, SMU, Oregon, Arkansas and Indiana.
Chester is the biggest of Pitt’s offensive line commits, including Thomas Jefferson’s Shep Turk and Akram Elnagmi of the United Kingdom. He attends Westover High School in Albany, Georgia, and has offers from 13 schools, including UAB, East Carolina, Wofford and Colorado State.

Pitt’s class is ranked 27th in the nation (sixth in the ACC) by Rivals.com. All commitments are verbal and non-binding until signing day in December.
