The roster spots continue to open up for Pitt and coach Jeff Capel.

Three more players, including a starter and two others who were part of Capel’s rotation most of the season, entered the NCAA transfer portal Tuesday, joining little-used forward Marlon Barnes, who previously announced his plans to transfer.

The Diaz Graham twins — Guillermo and Jorge — will play their final year of eligibility elsewhere, according to a report from Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 Media Network. Amsal Delalic, who played professionally in Bosnia & Herzegovina before enrolling at Pitt last year, also will leave the team after only one season, according to a report from PDT Scouting through Delalic’s agent Stevan Petrovic.

Natives of the Canary Islands, the twins enrolled in 2022 and were significant contributors as freshmen to Pitt’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in seven seasons. They will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Guillermo, a 7-footer, started 35 of his 98 games, averaged 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 34.1% from beyond the 3-point arc for his career. His best season was 2023-2024 when he averaged 6.7 points and was a 40.5% 3-point shooter.

The 6-11 Jorge played in 76 games with one start during his freshman season. Limited by injuries to 16 games as a sophomore in 2023-2024, he averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds for his Pitt career.

Delalic, 21, played professionally in his native Bosnia & Herzegovina from 2020-2024 but never found a secure niche in Pitt’s lineup. He appeared in only 21 games with two starts this season, but he shot 46.2% from the field, including 35.3% from beyond the 3-point arc. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds.

The loss of four players in two days, combined with the expiring eligibility of guards Ishmael Leggett and Damian Dunn and forward Zack Austin, means Capel will lose at least seven of his 12 scholarship players — at least, because the transfer portal stays open for 30 days.

The need to replenish the roster partially explains why Pitt (17-15, 8-12 ACC) decided to turn down any possible postseason invitations beyond the NCAA Tournament. Capel will continue digging deep into the transfer portal to rebuild his team for the 2025-2026 season, a process that started soon after the last game March 11.
