Pitt men’s soccer, the No. 1 team in the nation, hit three milestones Wednesday night in an 8-1 victory against Howard at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

• The Panthers (9-1-0, 4-0-0 ACC) have won six matches in a row, the longest winning streak in the nation.

• Pitt scored eight goals, a record under coach Jay Vidovich in his nine seasons at Pitt.

• The season-high 34 shots is the third-most in Division I this season.

Seven players scored for Pitt, including two goals by Eben McIntyre and the first of the season for Arnau Vilamitjana, Santiago Ferreira and McIntyre.

Luis Sahmkow, Albert Thorsen, Casper Svendby and Casper Grening also scored, helping give the Panthers a 28-6 edge over their opponents in 10 games.

Next up for the Panthers is a match with No. 6 Denver at 7 p.m. Monday. It will be televised by the ACC Network.
