Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi watches from the field during the Blue-Gold game on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Acrisure Stadium.

Pitt received its fourth verbal commitment from a 2025 offensive tackle Friday when Jordan Fields, a three-star recruit from Houston, turned down a scholarship offer from his hometown university and decided to move from one North Shore to another.

Fields (6-foot-6, 265 pounds) is a rising senior at North Shore High School in Houston. He is expected to sign his letter of intent in December, at which time he can call another North Shore home — Pittsburgh’s North Shore where Acrisure Stadium is located.

He chose Pitt over scholarship offers from 17 schools, including Houston, Kansas and Maryland.

Pitt has verbal commitments from three other high school offensive linemen, including tackle Akram Elnagmi of the United Kingdom and guards Shep Turk of Thomas Jefferson and Torian Chester of Albany, Ga.

Coach Pat Narduzzi has a diverse list of commitments after receiving verbal pledges from players representing 10 states — Fields is the first from Texas — plus the United Kingdom. Pitt’s 23-man class is ranked 34th in the nation by Rivals.com.
