Robert Morris' 1st game in return to NEC set for Sept. 21 at Wagner
With immediate NCAA FCS Playoff eligibility, Robert Morris football will play its first Northeast Conference game since announcing its return to the league when it visits Wagner on Sept. 21.
The NEC released its 2024 schedule Tuesday, with seven teams playing each other in six games: three at home, three on the road.
After Wagner, the first NEC game for the Colonials at Joe Walton Stadium is Oct. 19 against LIU. The following week, Robert Morris is home against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Oct. 26.
After an off week, RMU will renew its rivalry with Duquesne at Rooney Field on Nov. 9. The Colonials travel to Central Connecticut State on Nov. 16 before returning home to meet Stonehill on Nov. 23.
“We are excited to be back in the NEC and having the opportunity to play familiar opponents,” said seven-year Robert Morris coach Bernard Clark Jr. “This was certainly a great move for the RMU football program as we look forward to new challenges.”
Robert Morris announced Nov. 28 it accepted an invitation from the NEC Council of Presidents to rejoin the conference as a football associate member. The Colonials will be immediately eligible to earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
RMU helped launch NEC football in 1996 and won six conference championships. The 2024 season will be RMU’s 25th in the NEC.
The complete RMU football schedule will be released at a future date.
