George Aramide, who was born in London, played in Spain and coached in Canada and the U.S., was named Monday as an assistant men’s basketball coach under Andy Toole at Robert Morris.

“We are excited to add George to our coaching staff,” Toole said in a statement. “He has been a successful coach at the prep level as well as the college level. He has strong international experience as well, which will only help our student-athletes maximize their experience as members of our basketball program. We are happy to add George and his family to the RMU family.”

Aramide (pronounced: Uh-rah-muh-dee) spent last season as an assistant at Fresno State after two seasons working with coach Bobby Hurley at Arizona State. The Sun Devils won 23 games and earned an NCAA Tournament bid in 2022-23.

His coaching career also included time at George Harris Preparatory High School in Mississauga, Ontario. His AAU program, Run N’ Dunk, won the Canadian National Invitational Tournament in 2018.

Aramide attended Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, before playing professionally in Spain.
