S DeShon Elliott sits out Steelers practice with back injury; CB Donte Jackson is full participant
Safety Deshon Elliott did not practice Thursday for the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a back ailment, making him one of a handful of starters to show up on the initial injury report of the week.
Also not practicing were outside linebacker Nick Herbig (hamstring), center Zach Frazier (ankle), wide receiver Roman Wilson (hamstring) and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (day off).
Herbig has missed the past two games, and Frazier and Wilson did not play last Sunday against the New York Jets.
Limited practice participants were inside linebacker Tyler Matakevich, who was designated to return from injured reserve earlier in the day, running back Cordarrelle Patterson and nose tackle Keeanu Benton.
Safety Damontae Kazee, who was held out of the Jets game as a precaution because of an ankle injury, was a full participant. Cornerback Donte Jackson, who exited the game in the first half with a shoulder injury, also practiced fully, as did tackle Dylan Cook (foot).
The Steelers (5-2) face the New York Giants (2-5) on Monday night at Acrisure Stadium.
