Saint Louis snaps Duquesne’s 4-game winning streak

Gibson Jimerson scored 28 points to lead Saint Louis to a 90-85 victory over Duquesne on Saturday night, ending the Dukes’ winning streak at four games.

Dae Dae Grant led Duquesne (18-9, 8-6) with 22 points. Joe Reese added 15 and Tevin Brewer and Jimmy Clark III each added 12.

Duquesne went 8 for 11 from 3-point range in the first half, building a lead as large as 15 points at 31-16 with nine minutes left in the first half.

Saint Louis (18-9, 10-4), which closed the gap to 41-39 by halftime, took the lead for good at 57-54 on a 3-pointer by Jimerson, the only shot the Billikens hit from behind the arc in the game.

Saint Louis used an 11-0 run to take an 80-66 lead with 5:11 to play. Duquesne got back within three points three times in the final three minutes but got no closer.

Duquesne’s next game is at La Salle at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
