Seton Hill will play in the NCAA Division II women’s basketball tournament for the first time in 15 years.

Accepting an at-large bid Monday, the third-seeded Griffins (23-6) will begin play at noon on Friday against No. 6 Kutztown (22-11) at Edinboro’s McComb Fieldhouse in Erie.

Seton Hill beat Kutztown earlier in the season 89-72.

Friday’s winner will take on the winner of No. 2 Gannon (25-6) and No. 7 and CIAA champion Fayetteville State (21-7) in the semifinals Saturday.

Other opening matchups are No. 1 Edinboro (24-6) vs. No. 8 Virginia State (23-6), and No. 4 IUP (21-7) vs. Fairmont State (27-4).

The region final is set for Monday.

Eight regional winners will move on to the Elite Eight on March 24-28 at Duquesne’s UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh.
