Source: Duquesne basketball player tests positive for covid-19

The Duquesne men’s basketball team has limited its preseason workouts to individual drills after one player tested positive early last week for covid-19, a source told the Tribune-Review.
That unidentified player has been quarantined, but the remainder of the team and staff tested negative for the coronavirus.
Duquesne also shut down practices earlier this month when several players exhibited flu-like symptoms, but at that time, everyone tested negative.
The Dukes have not finalized a schedule for the 2020-2021 season, but the team has plans over the Thanksgiving holiday to participate, along with several other teams, in a bubble at the University of Louisville, where it could play as many as five games.
Duquesne officials are hoping UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, currently under construction where the Palumbo Center stood, will open in time for the team to play Atlantic 10 games there, possibly in January.
