Aaron Rodgers wasn’t wearing a brace or cast on his fractured left wrist following practice Wednesday. Then again, the 41-year-old Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback didn’t take part in the workout, either.

As was the case the previous Wednesday, Rodgers spent the day working with the strength and conditioning staff to heal an injury that prevented him from playing in a 31-28 loss to the Chicago Bears.

“I’m hoping for a different outcome this week,” Rodgers said.

In his recovery as well as on the scoreboard.

Rodgers intends to resume practicing Thursday and will work Friday in advance of the Steelers’ game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. He has not taken a snap from under center, yet he hopes to check off that box this week. He will have the wrist device reattached before he takes the field again.

“There are limitations, for sure,” Rodgers said.

The decision whether Rodgers will start will be made by coach Mike Tomlin, who decided last Saturday to go with backup Mason Rudolph in Chicago. Rodgers watched from the sideline.

“I’m always wanting to play,” he said. “There are very few times that an injury has been significant enough to keep me off the field,” he said. “That was definitely disappointing, and also (the game) being in Chicago, but it is what it is.”

Rodgers has a lifetime 24-5 record against the Bears and had won 11 of his previous 12 starts at Soldier Field. He is 3-4 lifetime against Buffalo, losing both of his matchups last season when he played for the New York Jets.
