For the second day in a row, the Pittsburgh Steelers kept one of their free agents from hitting the open market.

Arthur Maulet, who primarily played slot cornerback in 2021, agreed to a two-year contract, NFL Network reported.

A five-year veteran, Maulet joined the Steelers as a free agent last year and was used in the slot to help offset the loss of Mike Hilton to the Cincinnati Bengals. Maulet played 16 games, starting two, and had 47 tackles, including 38 solo. He also was used on special teams.

Maulet’s signing comes one day after the Steelers signed safety/special teams player Miles Killebrew to a two-year contract. The Steelers have 14 other players set to test unrestricted free agency.

Free agency opens March 16. Teams can begin bidding on free agents from other teams Monday.
