The Pittsburgh Steelers added depth to their offensive line, signing former Houston Texans guard/tackle Nick Broeker on Wednesday.

Broeker appeared in 12 games as a reserve the past two seasons since he entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Broeker was cut at the end of his rookie training camp and had been with Houston since until getting waived earlier this month in the wake of the Texans’ draft class signing.

An All-SEC guard as a senior at Ole Miss in 2022, Broeker began his college career as a tackle. He has played both positions in the pros, albeit with most of his game experience coming during the preseason. Broeker has just nine regular-season snaps on offense, though he has played extensively on special teams.

After their starting five, Spencer Anderson and Ryan McCollum are the Steelers’ top returning backups on the offensive line. The Steelers did not select an offensive lineman in the draft, though they did sign undrafted guard Aiden Williams out of Minnesota-Duluth and signed Gareth Warren off a tryout at rookie camp.
