The James 5:16 Boxing Center in Tarentum will host amateur boxing Saturday.

Chris Archer, a trainer at the facility, said there will be 13-15 bouts between fighters from local gyms throughout the area and region who continue to prepare for the Golden Gloves and USA Boxing tournaments early next year.

He expects fighters from Ohio and West Virginia to take part in the event.

Four who train out of James 5:16 Gym will be in action. Illiana Riesterer (121 pounds) and Jimmy Couslins (155 pounds), both 16, will make their amateur debuts.

Brian Walker, 30, will compete at 133 pounds, and this is his eighth amateur fight.

Austin Waman, 20, will fight for the ninth time. He will be at 165 pounds.

Professional Jordan Zlacki, who calls James 5:16 home, will be on hand for the festivities.

Door open at 6 p.m., and the first bout will be at 7:30.

Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and under.
