After landing a commitment from Oakland University transfer Dan Oladapo on Monday, Texas Tech transfer guard Jamarius Burton announced his commitment to the Panthers via his Instagram account Tuesday night.

He suffered an injury at Kansas during the latter half of the season and missed eight games before returning to play in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. He combined for two points between the two games while only playing 11 minutes. The Red Raiders lost to Arkansas in the second round. Burton scored a season-high 10 points against Grambling on Dec. 6.

Before Texas Tech, Burton played for Wichita State and averaged 10.3 points as a sophomore, and led the team in assists with 3.4 per game. He also set a new Wichita State freshman record by dishing out 126 assists in his first season. He also scored 6.0 points per game as a freshman.
