Duquesne head coach Dru Joyce III leads his team against St. Joseph’s in the second half Jan. 8, 2025 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Duquesne coach Dru Joyce III got his second commitment this offseason when sophomore guard Jimmie Williams pledged to the Dukes on Saturday, according to his Instagram account.

Williams (6-5, 210) averaged 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists for South Florida last season. He shot 46.4% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.

He previously played at Wallace State, where he was an NJCAA All-American after averaging 22.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Earlier this month, the Dukes got a commit from forward John Hugley IV from Xavier and previously Pitt.

The Dukes had 10 players enter the transfer portal this offseason.

WVU adds Floyd, Moore

Chance Moore, who averaged 13 points and 6.5 rebounds at St. Bonaventure last season, committed to play for the West Virginia men’s basketball team.

Moore (6-6, 205) also played previously at Arkansas and Missouri State.

WVU also added senior guard Jasper Floyd (6-3, 195), coach Ross Hodge announced. Floyd started all 36 games last season for North Texas and averaged 9.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

“Jasper has been a winner at every level of competition,” Hodge said. “He has incredible intangibles and is a great leader. He makes others around him better on and off the floor.”
