U mad, bro?: Fans bash Chase Claypool, Pat Freiermuth, Pressley Harvin and just about anyone else in a Steelers uniform

It’s awfully hard for Pittsburgh to get into the Christmas spirit when the Steelers are playing this badly.
They are 6-6-1, winners just one time in their last five games and occupying last place in the AFC North.
So, I’m sure you’ll understand if “Joy to the World” isn’t echoing up and down Grant Street just yet.
That’s why my stocking has been stuffed with plenty of entries for “U mad, bro?” this week.
Let’s start with an email from someone called “mpoppel41.” Ol’ Pop isn’t thrilled with the idea of Mason Rudolph being the Steelers starter at quarterback next year.
“So a repeat of the 80s when Bradshaw retired and (Mike) Kruczek took over? Then (Cliff) Stoudt, (Mark) Malone, and (Bubby) Brister. Basically they are going to (stink) even more … until another franchise shows up. Have a nice day.”
“Have a nice day”? Well, gee, after a chipper email like that, how couldn’t I have a nice day?
To be clear, Kruczek wasn’t in that line of succession. He left the Steelers after the 1979 season and went to Washington. So don’t blame him for what happened in the 1980s.
Although I wouldn’t rule out him battling Dwayne Haskins for the backup spot next year.
However, to your “new franchise” point, the Pittsburgh Maulers are getting rebooted. So don’t give up hope just yet!
Maybe Glenn Carano can make a comeback?
Tom is fed up with Chase Claypool’s missed blocks, penalties, wrong routes and ill-timed celebrations.
Should be sat down. Ridiculous

He would be. If there was anyone close to good enough to absorb his snaps. The Steelers are down to Ray-Ray McCloud on the depth chart as it is. So, sorry, Claypool is going to keep playing.
Even if he keeps driving all of us crazy.
Jason is agitated at Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth for failing to catch that potential touchdown at the end of the Thursday night game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Ball in his hands…that’s a drop
— Jason Snyder (@jas488) December 10, 2021
That was more of a great defensive play by Harrison Smith and Xavier Woods than anything. The ball was in his hands and not moving. It was jarred free before he could secure it further. That’s 90% a good play by the defense and, at most, 10% blame on Freiermuth.
This guy wants to point out that the Steelers would be in the playoff bracket right now if they had beaten the Vikings.
Steelers would be the 6 seed right now if they had won.

But they didn’t. And they aren’t.
They also tied the Detroit Lions. If they had won both of those games, they’d be leading the AFC North.
Let that wash over you for a minute.
Gig is mad at Steelers punter Pressley Harvin.
We need a punter!
— Gig Fuhrman (@fuhrman_gig) December 10, 2021
They had one. His name was Jordan Berry. He was on the other team Thursday. You may have noticed him placing the ball on the 4-yard line before the Steelers’ final offensive drive of the night.
Rich didn’t understand Minnesota’s offensive approach once they built a huge lead Thursday night.
@TimBenzPGH Cook is averaging 9.9 a carry, Mattison 6.3. Why in the world is Minnesota throwing?
— Rich N (@rxn128) December 10, 2021
Practice. Clearly, they needed it. Kirk Cousins kept throwing the ball to Ahkello Witherspoon.
So, work on your shortcomings in game situations, right? That’s why these top-level teams schedule lesser opponents in money games like these.
Um, wait a minute …
Let’s wrap up with RPRoberts1958, who puts a bow on things for us.
“Steelers stink. Anyone who thinks they don’t is lying to themselves. A good team doesn’t lose to the Raiders and Bengals at home. It doesn’t tie Detroit and it wins at Minnesota. If they make the playoffs it’s more of an indictment of the division than an achievement.”
Now hold on for a second. Let’s just settle down. I actually think that …
Eh, who am I kidding. I got nothin’.
When you’re right, you’re right. And this guy is … sigh … 100% right.
