The top talent in the Frontier League will again be descending upon Washington, Pa.

For the third time, the Washington Wild Things will host the Frontier League’s All-Star Game. The 2020 independent baseball league event is scheduled for July 15 at Wild Things Park.

“The Frontier League is extremely pleased to have our 2020 All-Star Game in Washington, Pennsylvania,” Frontier League Commissioner Bill Lee said in a statement. “Given the addition of the new teams, it becomes imperative that the premier event of the league be first class. We selected Washington, Pa. and the Washington Wild Things because we know, from experience, they will create an extraordinary event.”

The Frontier League and Can-Am League merged this past fall to form the largest independent league in the country. There are teams from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Ontario and Quebec.

“We are honored to be selected for the first-ever All-Star Game of the newly expanded league,” team owner Francine Williams said in a statement. “For years, the Wild Things have been the team furthest East in the Frontier League, but with the expansion, we have become the geographic center of the league.”

Since their inception in 2002, the Wild Things have won six division titles. They finished 37-59 and in last place in the East Division last season.
