The West Virginia men’s basketball team received some good news from the Big 12 Conference on Monday as a game postponed because of covid issues has been rescheduled.

The Mountaineers’ matchup with Baylor, originally scheduled for Jan. 12, now will be at 5 p.m. Feb. 18, in Waco, Texas.

The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Bears, No. 2 in the latest Associated Press men’s basketball top 25 poll, are 12-0 on the season. They trail only No. 1 Gonzaga (14-0).

An additional more subtle change to the schedule has WVU’s Feb. 22 game at TCU moved one day to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 in Fort Worth, Texas.

That game also will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The West Virginia athletic department said further schedule adjustments will be announced when they become finalized.

The Mountaineers, 9-4 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 action, have not played since falling to Texas, 72-70, on a late 3-pointer Jan. 9.

In addition to last week’s Baylor game, home conference contests with TCU and Oklahoma State also were postponed. Those games have yet to be rescheduled.

Up next for WVU, No. 14 this week in the AP poll, is a Big 12 game Saturday afternoon at Kansas State.
